The rainstorm was over, I dashed out from the house to free myself. Spending hours in the house really made me feel bored rigid (extremely bored). I needed fresh air and so I went for a ride in the neighborhood of Buick Katie. I enjoyed cycling along the roads that ran parallel with rows of tall trees. The atmosphere around me was refreshingly cool. In the midst of admiring view, I caught the sight of a house that was partly buried in the mud. I halted (stop) and looked at the house from a distance. I hesitated for a while before I went to look for a phone immediately.
I managed to find one and called the police. Since it was quite a remote (isolated) area, it would take sometime for the police to reach there. Without the slightest hesitation, I dashed to the house to find out if any occupant were injured. I climbed up the fence and ran towards the back of the house. It was completely covered with mud and I could not find any space to go trough it. While I was climbing the area, suddenly I saw some movement at one side of the mud. It was a man with part of his body being buried under the mud. Quickly, I ran to him and pulled him out.
I had to pull IM with all my strength and it took me quite some time before I managed to pull him out of the heap of mud. The man was mumbling and he was not fully conscious yet. I tried to comfort him with words of encouragement. At last, the distance wail (to make a long high sound) of sirens broke the silence of the surroundings. A police car and an ambulance soon came into sight. The man was carried off on a stretcher by the attendants before a policeman approached me. I was relieved, at last, to see the most safe. Effects of Deforestation Nowadays, development seems to be a must for all the countries in the world and t is unavoidable.
This is where deforestation will take place. Deforestation refers to the act of cutting trees down or burning the trees in an area of forest so that the place can be further developed. The government will exploit (to develop or use SST for business or industry) the forest in the name of development. This act for sure will bring adverse (negative and unpleasant; not likely to produce a good result) effects on the environment as a whole. One of the effects is lost of biodiversity. Forests are home to an immense (enormous, extremely large or great) number of living things.
This large number of different kinds of animals and plants can make a balanced environment. Therefore, when trees are cut down, there will be no shelter and sufficient food resources for the living things. Subsequently, it will cause extinction of the species in the area especially those with enormous potential to human race in medicine, for instance. When trees are cut down on a big scale, it will destroy the surface of the land as no trees are there to keep the soil in place. Essential nutrients are washed out of the soil and it will lead to soil erosion.
The impact of erosion is the land will no longer be good for growing. There will be flooding around as no vegetation helps to suck up the excess rainfall. In the end, flash floods will happen. That is why forests are important and need to remain dense (thick) and lush (growing thickly and strongly in a way that is attractive; covered in healthy grass and plants). Climate change is another issue that is caused by deterioration. Forest trees play a vital role (necessary or essential in order tort SST to succeed or exist) in maintaining the levels of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere as it can absorb carbon dioxide.
Carbon dioxide can trap heat from the sun and the loss f trees will cause more carbon dioxide to be trapped in the area as no trees are there to absorb the increasing amount of carbon dioxide. As a result, more heat will be trapped and it leads to an increase in temperature. Eventually, it will cause a change in climate and weather. Thus, it is important for the authorities to consider all the possible effects before they decide to clear the forests. The effects will bring long-term problem to humans and other living things. What is more is that it needs ten years’ time to build a forest but it takes only one day to destroy it.
